Yes, you can achieve a raspier exhaust sound by installing aftermarket exhaust systems, removing the muffler, or adding components like resonators or straight pipes.
I put a cvf catted downpipe on my truck a few weeks and while it sounds good 90% of the time, if you actually get on the throttle and approach the redline, it starts to get raspy.
So i removed my resonator today and i'm not sure if i like it
The truck is louder for sure
Long story short, i did the muffler delete with stock resonator
It sounds great to me, but cold starts and full throttle pulls are a bit obnoxious and raspy
I really like the sound of the s types, and atak system.
Removing the resonator can make popping or crackling sounds more noticeable during deceleration
These sounds are acoustic in nature and desired by some
Not indicative of a mechanical.
It's not hard at all to make them sound good at idle
It's anything above about 1500 rpm that it starts to sound ricey and raspy.
The resonator delete is a nice mod if you want to change your exhaust note without making it too loud

I'm thinking about doing a muffler delete, leaving the resonators and just replacing the muffler with a straight pipe on my truck and would like to hear from any of you guys that have done this and your.
With that out of the way
